Spyderco Para Military 2

Why change something if it works?  Because, at Spyderco, we practice the principle of C.Q.I. - Constant Quality Improvement.  If we can refine and improve the ergonomics or cutting performance of an established model, we do it.

Our 2010 Para Military 2 has several changes over the classic version.  The G-10 handle is narrowed at the end improving the ergonomics. The handle and blade have been profile thinner; removing uncomfortable angles when in the closed position.  It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket.  We kept the same high-performance CPM S30V full flat-ground blade but we've also lengthened the blade's tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil.  Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances.  Larger lanyard gives more options for carry.

Refinements to overall construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM S30V steel full flat blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort.

C41PSBBK5 Native 5 Lightweight Black Blade

Spyderco's black-bladed Native Lightweight has long been the cutting tool of choice of savvy tactical knife users. With the introduction of the fifth-generation Native 5, however, that bar has just been raised. The black-bladed Native 5 Lightweight combines all the improvements that define this advanced design with the ultra-lightweight advantages of an injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle and a low-profile black finish on the blade and other metal hardware. The knife's full-flat-ground blade is machined from niobium-enriched CPM(R) S35VN powder metallurgy stainless steel and is cloaked in a durable, non-reflective Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. For maximum versatility, it has a true CombinationEdge(TM) that offers a plain cutting edge near the tip and serrations near the base of the blade. This combination will power through fibrous materials and provide scalpel-like control, all with the same blade. An improved back lock mechanism-one of the defining features of the Native 5 design-locks the blade securely in the open position. The lock is housed in a linerless FRN handle with a deeply molded Bi-Directional Texturing(TM) pattern for maximum grip security. Four sets of threaded inserts in the handle provide a full range of mounting options for a reinforced hourglass clip design. Together with the blade's Trademark Round Hole(TM) and back lock mechanism, the black-coated four-position clip makes both carry and operation of this extremely capable knife completely ambidextrous.

Spyderco Native Plain 5 Folding Pocket Knife

M1071676 Available: 2
Since its original release in 1997, the Native has been a mainstay of the Spyderco product line and a flagship of our American-made stable of knives. The design has evolved steadily over the years, reaching its current state of the art in 2012 with the release of the Native 5. The latest addition to the Native lineage is the Native5 Lightweight, which combines the Native5's engineering refinements with the weight-saving advantages of an injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle.

Proudly manufactured in our factory in Golden, Colorado, the Native5 features a spear point blade made from premium CPM S35VN stainless steel. Its full-flat grind, distal taper, textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp, and understated swedge collectively offer a distinctive appearance and outstanding edge geometry and point utility. The blade is supported by a highly refined back lock mechanism that takes this time-tested lock design and elevates it to a new standard of engineering and manufacturing excellence.

The linerless FRN handle features Bi-Directional Texturing(TM) for an ultra-secure grip and reduces the overall weight of the knife to a scant 2.5 ounces. The handle also houses four sets of threaded inserts molded directly into the FRN. These allow the improved hourglass clip to be positioned for left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry. A generously sized lanyard hole also provides a handy attachment point for lanyards, fobs, and safety
lines.

A highly advanced evolution of a time-honored design, the Native5 Lightweight is an incredibly capable, pocket-sized cutting tool and a shining example of Spyderco's commitment to making even our best products consistently better.
